Juan Gusman is a reputable mathematics instructor with over 13 years of experience in developing and advancing a fluid learning environment.  He is well known for cultivating rapport, gaining trust and respect, while consistently enforcing campus rules and procedures. Juan identifies realistic expectations for students’ personal and social development in various settings.  He creates a safe and positive, yet academically rigorous learning environment in which diversities are valued.  He collaborates with team members and district personnel to implement district and state mathematics standards. Juan is a proven leader in fusing technology with in-person instruction. He affects successful, measurable changes in students’ academic pursuits.

 

Juan is originally from Lakeland, FL and graduated from Florida State University in 2003 with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminology & Criminal Justice. Reflecting on his own experiences in school, Juan made the transition into teaching so he could become a role model and advocate for today's diverse student. 

 

Juan currently resides in Stuart, FL with his wife and 3-year old daughter, where they are expecting the arrival of their second child in the fall.  He is an avid Cross Fit athlete, and collector of vintage toys and video games.
