David Yankwitt is an experienced social studies teacher in Martin County School District. He holds a Florida educator certificate in Social Studies, Grades 6-12. Additionally, he is an adjunct professor of Political Science at Indian River State College.
David received an AA from Indian River State College in 2011, a BA in Political Science from Florida Atlantic University in 2013 and a Master of Professional Studies in Political Management from The George Washington University in 2015. David is completing a Master’s in Political Science from the University of Nebraska, Omaha, which is expected to be completed in December of 2020.
David is a U.S. Army veteran and served as an Infantryman in Afghanistan from 2008-2009. He has done numerous speaking engagements at the local libraries about his tour in Afghanistan called Afghanistan: A Soldier’s View. These speaking engagements are credited to Professor Robert Farley’s Living History Series at Indian River State College. He has also served on Indian River State College’s Veteran’s Panel, which gives the public an insider's view of what the military is like and the Panel consists of veterans from different branches and wars. He also has been featured in the Palm Beach Post, Veteran’s Voice, and live on CBS News Channel 12.
